The primary conflict in this story arises when Bandung Bondowoso falls in love with Roro Jonggrang. However, Roro Jonggrang does not share the same feelings and vehemently rejects him. Despite her efforts to thwart him, Bandung Bondowoso shows compassion towards her and decides to leave Kediri without harboring any ill will.
